We Are Able to Create Many Types of Content

Explore the different content types we create for technical audiences.

Why use different types of content?

The most effective developer marketing strategies combine multiple content types to address different stages of the developer journey. Tutorials and guides build awareness and trust, while comparisons and persuasive pieces drive consideration and decisions.

Creating the Right Content Mix

At Draft.dev, we help you create the optimal mix of technical content to engage your audience at every stage of their journey.

Check out the examples below to see how different content types work together to create a comprehensive developer marketing strategy. The right column contains links to content we've produced for our clients.

1. Tutorials

Tutorials provide a step-by-step explanation for why and how to accomplish a specific engineering task. These posts usually include code samples and screenshots.

2. Roundups

Roundups (or "listicles") offer a collection of comparable products or tools in list form. Good roundups are well-researched and often widely shared.

3. Comparisons

Similar to roundups, comparisons typically focus on just two or three options and include even more depth to the concepts discussed.

4. Technical Guides

A guide is a high-level overview of a technology or group of technologies. The best guides require technical knowledge and personal experience.

5. Persuasive Writing

Persuasive writing is about making your case to technical decision-makers. It usually requires a mix of engineering experience and domain expertise.

What kind of content does Draft.dev actually produce?
We create a wide range of content focused on helping technical buyers evaluate, adopt, and grow with your product. This includes blog posts and tutorials, comparison pages, landing pages and onboarding content, technical product guides and use case deep-dives, thought leadership pieces, lead magnets and gated assets, content refreshes and SEO-optimized pages, and more. We tailor content formats and tone based on your goals, audience, and funnel stage.
Who writes the content? Are they technical enough?
All content is created by our network of 300+ vetted engineer-writers and reviewed by subject matter experts and editors. We also use AI to speed up research and drafts, but every piece is reviewed by real developers and edited by professional technical editors to ensure accuracy, clarity, and value for your audience.
How soon do we see content after we start?
You’ll get your first pieces within 3 weeks of kickoff. We’ll spend the first 1–2 weeks aligning on goals, messaging, and the content roadmap so we’re not writing in a vacuum. After that, we aim for a consistent weekly publishing cadence. Publishing 2x weekly is the first core discipline of a successful content operation.
How much of my team’s time will this require?
We’re built to minimize internal lift. You’ll typically need to attend a kickoff call, review and approve a quarterly roadmap, and provide occasional feedback on draft content (we handle the rest). We offer full CMS publishing, distribution, and social media asset creation, so you can focus on other growth initiatives and closing the leads we’re driving.
How do you measure success?
Success depends on your goals, but we typically track traffic to key content, lead magnet downloads, demo or trial signups from content, engagement via newsletters, shares, or backlinks, and movement of content-informed leads down the funnel. We hold monthly analytics check-ins to evaluate what’s working and adjust the roadmap accordingly.
Can we start small and scale up later?
Yes. Many of our clients start small as a test, adding in paid growth options over time. We offer plans starting at $7K/month with an initial minimum commitment of 3 months.
